This course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to the ISO 22000:2018 standard. It also equips trainees with the knowledge and skills required to conduct an internal assessment of a portion of a Food Safety Management System (FSMS) based on ISO 22000 (or equivalent), and to report on the effectiveness of the system’s implementation and maintenance in accordance with ISO 19011 guidelines.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the requirements of the ISO 22000 standard.
- Recognize the essential elements of food safety required by the standard.
- Understand what assessors look for when evaluating a FSMS.
- Explain the process-based FSMS model according to ISO 22000, and the role of internal assessment in its maintenance and improvement, with reference to the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle. • Explain the role and responsibilities of the assessor in planning, implementing, documenting, and monitoring an internal assessment of the food safety management system, in accordance with ISO 19011 guidelines.

- Upon completion of this training course, you will be able to: • Describe the purpose of a Quality Management System (QMS), quality system standards, quality audits, and third-party certification. • Explain the auditor’s role in planning, conducting, reporting, and following up on audits in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 where applicable. • Plan, conduct, report, and follow up on a Quality Management System audit to determine conformity (or nonconformity) with ISO 9001, in alignment with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 where applicable.
