This introductory course provides a comprehensive understanding of ISO 45001:2018 – the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems – and its requirements, along with a user guide. It also equips participants with the knowledge and skills to conduct internal assessments of occupational health and safety management systems based on ISO 45001:2018, and in accordance with the requirements of ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 as needed.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.
- Identify what assessors should focus on during a system evaluation.
- Explain the changes in occupational health and safety requirements resulting from the transition from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018.
- Explain the purpose of an occupational health and safety management system and the organizational and societal benefits resulting from improved performance. • Explain the assessor’s role in planning, implementing, documenting, and monitoring the assessment of the occupational health and safety management system, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021-1, as required.
- Plan, implement, document, and monitor an internal assessment to verify compliance (or non-compliance) with ISO 45001:2018, and in accordance with the guidelines of ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1, as required.
