This accredited course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct first, second, and third-party assessments of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&S) in accordance with ISO 45001:2018, and in line with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021-1 guidelines as required.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of an OHS management system and the organizational and societal benefits resulting from improved performance in this area.
- Explain the role of the assessor in planning, conducting, documenting, and monitoring the assessment of an OHS management system in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021-1 as required.
- Planning, implementing, documenting and monitoring the assessment of the occupational health and safety management system to verify compliance (or non-compliance) with ISO 45001:2018, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1 where required.

- Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: • Understand the requirements of ISO 45001:2018. • Identify key focus areas during system assessments conducted by assessors. • Explain the changes in occupational health and safety requirements resulting from the transition from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018. • Describe the purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and the organizational and societal benefits of improved performance. • Explain the assessor’s role in planning, conducting, documenting, and following up on an assessment of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1 where applicable. • Plan, conduct, document, and follow up on an internal assessment to verify conformity (or nonconformity) with ISO 45001:2018, in line with the guidelines of ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1 where applicable.
